Happy 2021!
Last year was quite a year and although I don’t intend to use this platform today to speak to all of the things that occurred last year, I do want to try and restart this blog series that I have enjoyed doing for so many years! I’ve been slacking for the last couple of years, but have always enjoyed how these little posts encouraged me to snap moments of everyday, mundane and ordinary moments for the sake of memory-keeping and also growing in my habit of gratitude for the simple everyday things in life.
So to that end — here is my first everyday life post of 2021!
I dont remember if this was from this past week or not, but this has been a normal scene in our home recently. The extended time home has encouraged my kids to use different toys and things they find in their house in creative ways for play.

I got this Santa’s playhouse for my kids to color once I started my new job. I figured it would give them something fun to do with Eugene while i was away. Too bad Eugene and I ended up coloring 95% of it because the kids got bored of it super quick.

The kids have been out of preschool for over a month now and they miss it so much. Here they are playing with a laminated version of their teacher (provided by her, not creepily made by us haha) Can’t wait to get back!

Though we moved in May, we are still slowly working toward getting things together! I’ve continued to challenge myself to maximize the small space that we have and it has been enjoyable to find creative ways to do so! The answer, in my opinion, is always more shelf space!

We decided to sign up for virtual preschool through Friends Art Lab to do in conjunction with the kids’ preschool so that I have something fun for them to do while i’m working at home. They are OBSESSED! We love Miss K & Miss M!

Games and puzzles have become a new favorite family activity. Love the quiet that puzzles create.

Speaking of games, one of Eugene’s co-workers gifted the kids a mousetrap game for christmas. Growing up I always wanted to try and play this – as an adult its equally as cool though slightly more labor intensive since I’m the one having the build it.

Had to start and end the year with one of my faves: a prayer from the Valley of Vision

Cheers to the first full week of 2021.
